Resurrecting Dreams

This weekend those who celebrate the Christian way will remember the resurrection of the Savior. He only died once – (for us) and then never again.

That means Life triumphs over death.

Whatever your persuasion this weekend, I’d like to release a resurrection spirit in you.

If your heart was broken, it’s time to mend.

If your dreams were dashed, its time to dream again.

If regret haunts your past, it’s time to embark on a new future.

You can serve a Redeemer who gives life to the dead and calls those things that be not as though they were.

When you feel weak, the Redeemer calls you Strong.

When you feel hopeless, The Redeemer calls you Hopeful.

When you feel rejected, The Redeemer calls you Chosen.

When you feel like a failure, The Redeemer calls you More than a Conqueror.

Resurrect the Abundant Life that once called to you.

How?

1. Change your focus

Instead of dwelling on your own weaknesses, think about the Greater One in you – and all your best moments.

2. Change the meaning you give to failure

So you experienced some set backs. Maybe you have walked for too long on a path full of struggle. That doesn’t mean your future holds more of the same. Maybe it means you are wiser, stronger and more compassionate than before. Perhaps it is finally time in this moment, to celebrate the resurrection power that moves your forward. You choose the meaning.

3. Let go of your attachment to an outcome

We cannot control the outcome of anything. A baseball player can only focus on a pitch and swing to hit. He can’t control his batting average.

You can only play one moment at a time as well. You might as well give it all you’ve got. Eventually the victory will take care of itself.

4. Start Now

Act AS IF the resurrection really were true. Act as if you were already on the other side. Act as if this moment belonged to you. It does.

It’s time to resurrect the dreams in your heart. You have gifts and callings that were designed for you before you were born.

You can rest in the resurrection then take action in faith.

You got this. I believe in you.

Now, go play.
